FOXO4 is a Forkhead box O4 transcription factor peptide studied in the context of cellular senescence. In research models, FOXO4 interacts with p53 to maintain the survival of senescent cells; disrupting this interaction (via FOXO4-DRI peptide) is studied as a tool for examining senescent cell clearance and healthspan biology. Native FOXO4 serves as a reference standard in these experiments.
