Description
Thymulin (facteur thymique sérique / FTS) is a nonapeptide (Glu-Ala-Lys-Ser-Gln-Gly-Gly-Ser-Asn) secreted by thymic epithelial cells in a zinc-dependent active form. Thymalin is a polypeptide thymic extract. Both are studied in research examining T-lymphocyte differentiation, thymic clock regulation, and immune senescence. Zinc-bound Thymulin is the biologically active form studied in receptor-binding and signal-transduction experiments.
